Switched On

Utilities and Green Energy.
Mobilising workforces that install, maintain, and manage the UK's current and future infrastructure.
We started in 2017. One office. Independent, locally run, and proud of it. The kind of place where clients were people we knew, and candidates were people we looked out for. We've grown a fair bit since.
Fourteen offices now, right across the UK. The growth was never what we were chasing. It just happened, because we kept doing right by people.
And that's really what we're about: we believe with conviction that every shift matters.
It's an easy thing to say and a harder thing to deliver. But we do. Behind every shift is someone counting on the work, a business that needs the day to go smoothly, a worker who needs the hours, the pay, the chance. We never forget there are real people on both sides of every placement. So we treat each one like it matters. Because to someone, it always does.
That's why we've built Magnus Search around two things we love in equal measure.

We love good technology, smart automation that takes the friction out of the day and frees us up to do the part that counts. And we love people, which is the part that counts. Because no clever bit of software has ever steadied a worker through a rough week, or stood by a client year after year. That's what relationships are for. It's where the real work lives. We've never believed you have to choose between the two. Get them both right, and you get something rare: a partner who's quick when it matters and human all the way through.
To each of us. Every shift matters.
The UK's energy infrastructure doesn't stop. The transition to clean energy can't wait. We make sure the workforce keeps pace with both.
From gas network maintenance to solar PV rollouts, smart metering programmes to heat pump installations — the contractors we work with operate at national scale, under compliance pressure, with no margin for workforce gaps.
That's the environment SERT was built for.

Over 260,000 pre-vetted professionals. A track record built on tier 1 energy contracts.
We've built SERT around two things, in equal measure.

"Thanks to the team at SERT WORK for facilitating training and assessment of the Air Source Heat Pump - Design course this week at their brilliant training and demonstration facility in Fareham. I have done a bunch of low temp and hydronics courses recently and the way the course directly references and utilises the CIBSE Domestic Heating Design Guide is really great. The CIBSE guide is a great resource but it is not always the most digestible. The awesome OFTEC Heat Pump Handbook fills in some of the gaps and makes the knowledge applicable to real world jobs.

“Working with SERT gives Future Isle of Wight CIC the confidence to reach out to the construction industry knowing that we can help them obtain the skills needed to retrofit the thousands of Island homes who are eligible for Energy Company Obligation 4 and leave them with a future skills legacy , as they say better to give someone a fishing rod than a fish.
