Job description
This is a highly rewarding and challenging role involving teaching small groups and supporting students in class with either English, Maths or Science so you would need to be confident with Key Stage 3 and GCSE knowledge of one or more of these subjects. This post would also be ideally suited to individuals who may be considering a career into teaching to gain valuable classroom experience.
You will be supportive, non-judgmental, patient, easy to talk to, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to pupils in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships. You are confident working with pupils on a one-to-one, small group basis or supporting in class, enabling all pupils to overcome any barriers to learning including those with special needs.
You need to be a responsible and organised person. You will have a GCSE minimum grade C or equivalent functional skills in English and Maths. Educated to degree level desirable or with proven knowledge/ experience..
