Freelance Trainer / Assessor – Portsmouth & Southampton

Location: Portsmouth and Southampton
Contract Type: Freelance Day Rate
Hours: Part-time up to Full-time (Flexible Engagement)
Roles: Trainer, Coach, Assessor, Lecturer

Overview

We are looking for experienced Gas, Plumbing, Heating, and Air Source Heat Pump professionals ready to step into rewarding roles as trainers, coaches, assessors, or lecturers.

Courses You’ll Deliver

Depending on your experience, you will deliver training and assessment in one or more of the following areas:

✅ Air Source Heat Pump Installation and Commissioning
✅ Legionella Awareness & Prevention
✅ Water Regulations (Water Regs)
✅ Unvented Hot Water Systems

✅ Electrical Qualifications:

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

• Electrical Testing & Inspection

• EV Charge Point Installation

• Solar PV Installation

• Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS)

✅ Retrofit Courses:

• Online PAS 2035-aligned qualifications:

  • Level 2 Award – Understanding Domestic Retrofit

  • Level 3 Award – Domestic Retrofit Advice (Adviser)

  • Level 4 Award – Domestic Retrofit Assessment (Assessor)

  • Level 5 Diploma – Retrofit Coordination

  • Traditional Buildings Level 3

About the Role

• Deliver accredited training to trade professionals and new entrants.

• Support learners to achieve qualifications aligned to industry standards.

• Maintain compliance with awarding body requirements.

• Contribute to high-quality curriculum and course materials.

Who We’re Looking For

✅ Qualified professionals with experience in gas, plumbing, heating, or renewable technologies (e.g., Air Source Heat Pumps)
✅ Individuals already working as trainers, coaches, assessors, or lecturers—or experienced tradespeople ready to step into training (full support provided)
✅ Strong communication and organisational skills
