About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Dual Fuel Engineers to join a leading provider of energy and infrastructure services. The role focuses on the safe installation, maintenance and removal of SMETS2 smart meters in domestic properties. You’ll be supporting major energy suppliers to ensure customers are billed accurately and understand the benefits of their smart metering systems.
As a Roaming Engineer, you’ll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments across different regions, helping to keep customers’ energy systems working safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Install, exchange and commission gas and electric smart meters (SMETS2).

Carry out maintenance, fault-finding and removal of existing meters.

Deliver excellent customer service, explaining product features and safe usage.

Complete around five installations per day, with opportunities for productivity bonuses.

Maintain accurate records using a company-issued tablet and scheduling system.

Promote a strong health and safety culture in every task.

Attend regular team briefings and ongoing technical development sessions.
Requirements

Full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months, with fewer than 6 points).

CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 and MET1 qualifications, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.

Proven experience installing gas and electric smart meters.

Familiarity with MOCOPA standards and multi-rate metering.
Desirable (but not essential):

Additional qualifications such as REGT1 or 3 Phase.

EUSR registration.
