Job Title: Retrofit Skills Coach (Freelance Contract)
Location: Staffordshire / Remote (UK-based)
Contract Type: Freelance (variable hours)
About the Role
We are seeking a Freelance Retrofit Skills Coach to deliver high-quality training, coaching and assessment for learners working towards retrofit qualifications. You will mentor learners, assess their progress and support the development of their skills and knowledge in areas such as energy efficiency, domestic retrofit and PAS 2035 compliance. This is a flexible opportunity for experienced retrofit professionals who want to share their expertise and contribute to the UK’s growing green skills sector.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and interactive learning sessions online and in person covering retrofit techniques, PAS 2035 standards, energy efficiency and sustainable building practices

Assess learner work, provide clear and timely feedback and support learners in achieving their goals

Mentor learners to build confidence and develop understanding of retrofit principles and practice

Support the ongoing improvement of course content to ensure training reflects current industry standards and regulations

Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain high standards of training delivery

Keep up to date with developments in retrofit, low carbon construction and building performance, and apply these in your coaching
What You’ll Bring

Minimum Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator qualification or an equivalent recognised retrofit qualification

At least three years’ post-qualification experience in retrofit or a related field such as domestic energy assessment, building physics or low carbon technologies

Ideally a teaching or assessing qualification, although full training can be provided

Experience in training, mentoring or assessing learners is highly desirable

Strong technical knowledge of retrofit practices with good communication and presentation skills and a learner-centred approach

Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor qualification is required for assessment duties

Flexible, proactive approach suited to freelance work and remote delivery
