Electrical Response Technician (Lighting & Fault Finding)
£17.50 per hour PAYE (paid monthly) + overtime/OOH premiums
Location: Reading / Bracknell — field-based patch
On-call: 1 in 8–9 weeks | Travel: Door-to-door paid
Are you an experienced Electrician looking for stable, well-paid work with real variety? Want to move away from purely domestic jobs and work on commercial and retail properties instead?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a highly respected building and mechanical services business with 60+ years’ track record across the South East. Due to continued growth, they’re expanding and hiring electricians into a compliance-led response team.
The role
You’ll be working across commercial/retail sites (leisure and hospitality environments), primarily focused on:

Lighting circuits, fault finding, and safe, compliant repairs

Basic emergency lighting checks and straightforward remedials

Evidence-led job close-out (notes/photos/test sheets) and a first-time-fix culture
Work is planned as close to home as possible. Where travel is required, you’re paid door-to-door.

What we’re looking for

Customer-facing experience and professional site manner

Strong domestic & light commercial background

NVQ / City & Guilds qualified

18th Edition

2391 Testing & Inspection
-
ECS Gold Card (preferred, not essential)

Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
